The Best Rooftop Bars in Mexico City (2026)
NOMADA · 2 min read

Fourteen rooftops worth your evening, from the Zócalo and the Torre Latino to Roma's garden terraces, with what each one is actually good for.
The short answer: go to the Centro Histórico for the Zócalo and the cathedral, Reforma for the skyline, and Roma Norte for a garden terrace and a long dinner. Mexico City's rooftop season runs best from November to April, when the evenings are dry.

For the view of the Zócalo and Centro
- La Terraza, Gran Hotel Ciudad de México. Fifth-floor terrace above the famous Tiffany stained-glass lobby, looking straight over the Zócalo. Best at sunset, and it serves breakfast through dinner.
- El Mayor. A calmer third-floor terrace over the Templo Mayor ruins, with contemporary Mexican food.
- La Casa de las Sirenas. An 18th-century building beside the cathedral, with more than 250 tequilas on the list.
- Miralto. Floors 40 and 41 of the Torre Latinoamericana. The most dramatic view in the city, and the most touristed.
- Terraza Catedral. On top of a hostel, so it's cheap, young and loud, with cathedral views and events most nights.
- La Azotea de Barrio Alameda. A leafy fourth-floor terrace over Alameda Central, good in the afternoon.
For the skyline and Reforma
- Cityzen, Sofitel Reforma. The 38th floor, looking down Paseo de la Reforma to the Angel of Independence and Chapultepec Castle. Smart clothes, book ahead.
- Terraza Cha Cha Chá. Sixth floor facing the Monumento a la Revolución, open from midday until late. One of the easiest rooftops to get into.
For a long evening in Roma
- Supra Roma. Fourteenth floor with 360-degree views, hookahs and a Middle Eastern-Mexican menu.
- Balmori Roofbar. A green, low-key terrace built for cocktails rather than photographs.
- Alelí. A garden terrace on the fourth floor, with seasonal grilled food. Better for dinner than for the view.
- 191 Rooftop, Hotel Roma 191. Weekend live music and comedy nights.
- Bacanora Terraza. Multi-level with a retractable roof and Sonoran food, on Tonalá.
Venues and floors as listed by The Rooftop Guide, checked September 2026.
Practical notes
- Book Thursday to Saturday, especially in Centro. Walk-ins are realistic on weeknights.
- Take a layer. At 2,240 metres, the temperature drops fast after sunset even in warm months.
- Rain season is May to October, when afternoon storms arrive most days. Rooftops either close or shelter, so check before crossing town.
- Sunset is the busy hour. Arrive an hour before for a seat at the rail.

Where NOMADA fits
We're building NOMADA, so read this section knowing we have an interest. Our building in Mexico City will have a rooftop bar of its own, open to the public as well as residents. Until it opens, the list above is where we'd send you. We'll keep it updated as places open and close, which in this city happens constantly.
