U-CO Roma Coliving: An Honest Review, and the Alternatives
NOMADA · 3 min read

U-CO is Mexico City's best-known budget coliving. Here's what guests say about the Roma Norte house, what it costs, who it suits, and the alternatives if it doesn't.
U-CO Roma is a good choice if you want the cheapest possible bed in the heart of Roma Norte for a short stay and don't mind noise. Guests consistently praise the location and the beds, and consistently complain about thin walls and late-night noise. For stays over a month, or if you need quiet to work, a coliving house or purpose-built coliving will probably suit you better.

This review is based on U-CO's published details and guest reviews, not a paid stay. Sources are listed at the end.
What U-CO Roma is
- Where: Calle Querétaro 75, Roma Norte, in the busiest part of the neighborhood.
- Rooms: three shared rooms of 4–6 capsules (mixed and female-only), five private rooms and two en-suites, sleeping about 26 guests in total.
- Capsules: personal light, shelves, power outlets, a lockable drawer and a memory-foam mattress.
- Shared spaces: a coworking space, an open kitchen, a lounge, a washer and dryer, and fiber internet.
- Terms: nightly, weekly or monthly. U-CO also runs a house in Juárez.
What it costs
Reported prices are about 300 MXN a night for a capsule and about 9,000 MXN a month for a private room (Holafly, 2025). That makes it one of the cheapest ways to live in Roma Norte. Check current rates on U-CO's site, as prices change by season.
What guests say
On Hostelworld, U-CO Live Roma scores 6.8/10 from 112 reviews, with 9.5/10 for location and 5.5/10 for atmosphere and facilities.

Criticized: thin walls, guest noise until the early hours, weak sound insulation on bedroom doors, and some complaints about bathrooms and bedding.
Who U-CO suits
- Good fit: short stays, tight budgets, and social travelers who want to be in the middle of Roma.
- Poor fit: light sleepers, people who need quiet for calls, couples, and anyone staying months.

Where NOMADA fits
We're building NOMADA, so read this section knowing we have an interest, and that it's a very different product from U-CO. It will be private studios and one-bedrooms in a historic building in Mexico City, with a coworking floor, a restaurant, a rooftop bar, a vinyl lounge, a spa and a gym. It will cost considerably more than a capsule. It's for people who want their own space with a community downstairs.
